Just
from Josefina Pla
...Just a look,
a pupil only for all things.
For dawn and sunset,
for love and hate,
for the lover and the executioner,
the dove and the viper,
the star and the firefly.
Just a few hands
for the chalice and the whip,
for the rose and for the cactus.
Just a few hands
for sand and dew,
to rock the cradle,
and caress the temple of the expected,
and open the last hole.
A mouth just
for the kiss and the scream
and for prayer and blasphemy.
For the sigh and the lie,
for forgiveness
and condemns it.
And just a blood
to listen to the time,
to water dreams
to buy the wound and the agony,
and distill the tears.
Ah, just a blood
a mouth, some hands,
a look alone.
